How Your Posture Shapes Your Mood, Energy, and Mental State

I still remember standing in the Wonder Woman pose before hosting an event.

Feet wide, hands on hips, chest open.

I felt a little silly at first, but something shifted…

My breath deepened. My shoulders relaxed.

I walked into that room feeling grounded and powerful.

That moment changed how I understood embodiment.

As a certified NLP practitioner, hypnotherapist, professional life coach, and spiritual counsellor, I’ve seen how these tools can transform lives.

The Body Leads the Mind

In NLP, we learn that our emotional state drives behavior.

But your body drives your state.

And so, you don’t need to wait for your thoughts to change before you feel better…

Start with your breath. Adjust your posture. Move your body.

These shifts send strong signals to your brain and to the people around you.

When you feel stuck or anxious, you can pause and check in with your body…

Am I collapsed inward?

Holding my breath?

Just changing how you sit or stand can shift everything.

Your Self-Image Lives in Your Body

Dr. Maxwell Maltz, author of Psycho-Cybernetics, noticed something surprising…

Even after changing someone’s appearance, many patients still felt insecure.

Their self-image hadn’t changed.

We act and feel based on how we see ourselves.

And that image isn’t just mental: it’s physical.

When you change how you hold yourself, you start to change how you see yourself.

That’s why embodiment is so powerful. It’s not just about posture. It’s about identity.

The Wonder Woman Pose Works

Social psychologist Amy Cuddy introduced the Wonder Woman pose in her TED Talk.

Standing tall for just two minutes can change your body chemistry.

It boosts testosterone, which helps you feel confident, and lowers cortisol, which reduces stress.

I use this before interviews, dates, and tough conversations. It’s quick, free, and backed by science.

Try it.

Your body will tell your brain, “I’ve got this.”

Masculine and Feminine Energy in the Body

The Wonder Woman pose taps into masculine energy…

It’s bold, direct, and expansive.

Perfect when you need to lead or take action.

But sometimes, you need to receive.

To attract. To inspire.

That’s where feminine energy comes in.

Instead of standing tall, you lean back.

You soften. You breathe into your belly.

It’s gentle, open, and magnetic.

You can use this when I want to feel safe, calm, and connected.

It tells the nervous system, “You’re okay.”

It tells the universe, “I’m ready.”

And it tells others, “You can come closer.”

FEMININE BODY LANGUAGE Changed Me

During my feminine energy relationship coach certification with Rori Raye, I learned the Dancer Position.

It’s simple but powerful.

Lean back.
Soften your body.
Open your heart.
Breathe deeply.

This posture isn’t about chasing. It’s about allowing.

When I practice it, I feel more attractive; not just romantically, but energetically. Ideas flow. People lean in. Life responds.

Try It With Me

Let’s do it together.

Sit or stand.
Lean back slightly.
Drop your shoulders.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.
Take a slow breath in.
Exhale even slower.

Feel your body soften.
Feel your energy shift.
This is the Dancer Position.
This is the posture of receiving.

Notice what opens up.

Embodiment Attracts

When you lean back, you’re not just relaxing. You’re sending a message to your brain: “I’m safe.” You’re telling the universe: “I’m open.”

This is how we attract and receive. Not by pushing, but by allowing.

Whether it’s love, creativity, or clarity, it comes when we create space.
