You can use this anytime, but when you combine these tools with the energy of the New Moon, you create a plan that feels alive, purposeful, and achievable.

Why Align Your Action Plan with the New Moon

The New Moon is a powerful time for intention setting.

It represents beginnings, fresh energy, and clarity.

Imagine looking back at the next New Moon and saying, “I actually did it.”

That is the power of aligning your goals with the moon cycle.

This process is perfect for:

  • New Moon rituals

Step 1: Set a Crystal-Clear Goal

In my NLP, we set goals using the submodalities of the mind.

Step 4: Reverse Engineer Your Goal

The New Moon is the perfect time to reverse engineer your plan.

  1. Imagine it is the next New Moon.
  2. Say to yourself: “It is now [date]. I have achieved [your goal].”
  3. Visualize the evidence:
    • Money goal: a specific amount in your bank account
    • Relationship goal: a fifth date with your dream person
    • Health goal: seeing a strong, healthy body in the mirror

Then ask:

What is the very last thing I will be doing when this goal is achieved?

Step 5: Map Your Milestones

Work backward from your goal date.

  • Waning Moon week: what actions will you take?
  • Full Moon week: what progress will you celebrate?
  • Waxing Moon week: what seeds will you plant?
  • Current New Moon: what is your first step today?

Set reminders in your phone or calendar.

If you want accountability, work with a coach who will keep you on track.

Step 6: Get Specific

As you move closer to the present, break it down further.

  • What will you do 15 days from now?
  • 14 days? 13 days? … all the way to today.

It does not have to be perfect.

You will adjust as you go.

Step 7: Daily Alignment

Ask yourself daily:

  • What would I be doing two days from now?
  • One day from now?
  • What can I do right now to move forward?

Examples of aligned action:

  • Reprioritizing your time
  • Setting boundaries
  • Saying no to distractions like scrolling or TV

Even if you do not hit the exact outcome, you will become:

  • Stronger
  • More confident
  • A better communicator
  • More capable in every area of life

It is about who you become along the way.
